Struktura inwestycji hiszpańskich funduszy inwestycyjnych w latach 1984-1998

Abstract

The paper describes the development of investment funds in Spain in the 1984-1998 period. The aim of the paper is to present on the example of Spain possible scenarios for the development of the Polish market of joint investment institutions in the coming years. The dynamic development of Spanish investment funds started in 1984 together with the adoption of a law on investment trust companies. In relation to Gross Domestic Product the value of assets managed by investment funds grew from about 0% to 43% of GDP in 1998. For the greater part of the analysed period the funds had been allocating only a small portion of their assets to investments abroad. The share of foreign instruments in the structure of Spanish investment funds began to increase in 1996. At present, their share in the funds' portfolios exceeds 50%. This can be attributed to the adoption of the euro in Spain.

Abstrakt

W opracowaniu omówiono rozwój funduszy inwestycyjnych w Hiszpanii w latach 1984-1998. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie na przykładzie Hiszpanii możliwych scenariuszy rozwoju polskiego rynku instytucji wspólnego inwestowania w najbliższych latach. Dynamiczny rozwój hiszpańskich funduszy inwestycyjnych rozpoczął się wraz z uchwaleniem w 1984 roku ustawy o instytucjach wspólnego inwestowania. Wartość zarządzanym przez nie aktywów w relacji do Produktu Krajowego Brutto wzrosła z blisko 0% do 43% PKB w 1998 roku. Przez większość omawianego okresu znikoma część aktywów inwestowana była poza granicami kraju. Udział instrumentów zagranicznych zaczął rosnąć w 1996 roku. Obecnie stanowią one ponad połowę portfeli funduszy. Wiąże się to z przyjęciem euro przez Hiszpanię.
