3. Editorial Board
The Editorial Board consists of an editor-in-chief, two deputy editors-in-chief, a managing editor and editors. Members providing editorial support and a linguistic reviewer are also cooperating with the Editorial Board. For more details see our Editorial Board page.
4. Scientific Board
Membership of the Scientific Board extends to highly regarded academics, both lawyers and economists. They are affiliated with European and U.S. universities. For more details, see our Scientific Board page.
5. Content
YARS® aims to be a multi-disciplinary platform presenting the developments of competition and pro-competitive regulation. The periodical focuses on current important competition protection problems (mainly antitrust but also state aid), as well as pro-competitive regulation (mainly the regulation of digital, sector, telecommunication, post and transport markets). Its articles concern either theoretical developments (e.g. economic theories, legislation) or practical implications of discussed problems (e.g. case-law) and refer to the current state of doctrine and scientific literature. YARS® also presents the activities of CARS, as well as the activities of similar academic and research institutions from Central and Eastern Europe.
6. Authors
The authors of the articles represent different jurisdictions; they are both academics and practitioners.

7. Review process
YARS® is a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal. Scientific articles are assigned two reviewers, and case comments have one. Conference reports and book reviews undergo internal editorial reviews.

8. Editing and distribution
The printed version is the basic version of YARS®. Circa 100 printed copies are circulated. YARS® is also available in electronic form at YARS website. YARS® is available on several Polish external databases, including PBN and CEJSH; many of the YARS® articles are also accessible at SSRN.
There are no royalty fees for authors. Editing costs are covered by the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw or the “Foundation for Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw”.
9. Evaluation and ranking
YARS® is a leading legal journal in Poland according to Index Copernicus. Its ICV 2022 indicator is 102.65. A growing trend can be observed (ICV 2016: 60.51). Since 2012, YARS has been listed on the ministerial list of scientific journals (with 40 points). Since 2020, YARS has been awarded ‘Class A’ status by the Italian research agency ANVUR.
10. Licencing
Articles published in the journal are available under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license, which permits use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided that the author(s) and source are credited, a link to the Creative Commons license is provided, and an indication whether any changes had been made is given. Figures, tables and other third-party materials are covered by the Creative Commons license unless otherwise indicated in the source of the material. If the material is not covered by a Creative Commons license, permission must be obtained directly from the copyright owner.
11. Frequency
YARS® has been published semi-annually since 2011. The first issue of the year is published around July, and the second before the end of December. The publications may have a general focus or be dedicated to a single theme or post-conference content.
12. Funding
The Journal is financed by ministerial projects and funds from the University of Warsaw. YARS® has received funding from the state budget through the “Development of Scientific Journals” program. The Ministry of Education and Science has granted de minimis aid of 36 298,00 PLN (the total value of the project is 57 298,00 PLN). The grant will be used to implement YARS® development strategy, which includes activities aimed at enhancing publishing and editing practices, increasing the journal’s impact on scientific advancement, and ensuring the journal’s continued presence in the international scientific community.
The journal has received funding from the „Inicjatywa Doskonałości – Uczelnia Badawcza” programme
